Miguel completed his PhD in 2009, at the Imperial College London, where he explored molecular mechanisms involved in the maintenance of mouse embryonic stem cell pluripotency, with a particular emphasis on the role of polycomb group proteins. Miguel then moved to Paris where he started a post-doc focusing on the role of non-coding pericentric transcripts in the nuclear reprogramming observed during early mouse development. In May 2014, Miguel joined Claire Rougeulle\'s team to explore the role of long non-coding RNAs in pluripotency and lineage commitment in human embryonic stem cells.
In his spare time, Miguel enjoys buying electric guitars (which he occasionally plays) and entertaining the idea of starting a French cheese business for his retirement.
