Group leader of the team ‘Development and Environment Interface‘
Dr Claire ROUGEULLE
Group leader of the team ‘Non-coding RNAs, Differentiation and Development’
The research unit is headed by Valérie Mezger (DR1, CNRS) working closely with Claire Rougeulle (DR1, CNRS) as Deputy director. Together, they have established a management structure that allows sharing of responsibilities, and delegation of tasks among senior researchers. Strategic decisions are taken by the Management Committee, composed of all the group leaders and general decisions about the functioning of the research unit are discussed at the Laboratory Council, composed of the group leaders and elected members, representing the different categories of personnels working in the unit.
Valérie Drouet assists the directors in certain responsibilities and tasks related to the organization of the unit (unit life, platforms, new initiatives, etc.) and to internal and external communication.
The administrative management team handles all ordering, purchasing and billing operations, manages the annual core funding from research agencies and assists the research groups in their administrative tasks.
The Epigenetics and Cell Fate centre, created in January 2009, is a joint department between the Université Paris Diderot and the national research agency CNRS.
Members of the unit are involved in national and international consortia. Several teams are members of the Laboratoire d’Excellence “Labex Who Am I?”, a collaborative, multi-disciplinary research consortium focusing on the fundamental question of the molecular and cellular bases of identity. The unit is also a partner in the DHU PROTECT, a large consortium aiming to pioneer novel therapeutic strategies for brain development disorders.
